Rivage Day Spa hosted a special holiday spa experience for teenage girls battling serious medical conditions who participate in programs through Wish Upon a Teen, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping teens cope with the effects of severe life-limiting illnesses. The event took place on Sunday, December 4, 2016. The spa closed for the day to remove any unwanted germs, as well as using only their organic product lines on the teens. Spa Director Jessica Lundberg said, “We want them to just be able to be a teenager, and not have to worry about what doctor appointment they have, or what medication they need to take. We just wanted them to have a normal day to do fun things.”
Each teen attending enjoyed a luxurious day of pampering including a facial and either a mini-pedicure or manicure. Spa guests took home a “glam bag”. Spa director, Jessica Lundberg assures the luxurious experience will help boost the girls’ self-esteem, while promoting social interaction among those going through similar medical circumstances.
Adds Nancy Sovran, Executive Director of Wish Upon a Teen, “We are thrilled to partner with Rivage Day Spa to provide this amazing day of pampering for our teens. I’m sure they will keep this special day in their memories forever, one that given their medical situations, they might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience. It’s what Wish Upon a Teen is all about, and we are very grateful to Jessica and her amazing staff.”
