Preparing for Your Nail Treatment
To ensure the safest service and best possible results from your manicure or pedicure, please review the following preparation guidelines, contraindications, and post-care instructions prior to your appointment.
Please arrive with clean hands and/or feet whenever possible.
If you are currently wearing gel polish and will require removal, this is an add-on service that adds time and cost. Please contact the spa to check availability.
We do not remove hard gel, dip powder, or acrylics as we are a natural nail salon. Please call the spa for further options or have it removed prior to your appointment.
Avoid shaving your legs for 24 hours prior to a pedicure service, as freshly shaved skin may be more susceptible to irritation.
Inform your nail technician of any allergies, sensitivities, medical conditions, or medications that may affect your service.
If you develop an illness, fever, infection, rash, or open wound on the hands, feet, or surrounding skin prior to your appointment, please contact us to reschedule your appointment.
Health Considerations & Contraindications
If any of the above conditions apply, please contact Rivage Day Spa prior to your appointment so we can determine if your treatment should be postponed or modified.
Clients are responsible for disclosing any health conditions, allergies, injuries, infections, or sensitivities that may affect their service.
Certain nail conditions may require medical evaluation before cosmetic nail services can be safely performed.
While every precaution is taken to ensure cleanliness and safety, clients should notify their technician immediately if they experience discomfort during the service.
Results and polish longevity vary based on lifestyle, nail condition, home care, occupation, and daily activities and cannot be guaranteed.
Allow polish adequate time to fully cure before exposing nails to excessive moisture or impact.
Wear gloves when cleaning, gardening, washing dishes, or using household chemicals.
Apply cuticle oil daily to help maintain nail and skin health.
Moisturize hands and feet regularly to prevent dryness and promote healthy skin.
Avoid using nails as tools to open, scrape, or pry objects.
Do not pick, peel, or forcefully remove polish or gel polish, as this may damage the natural nail.
Wear properly fitting footwear after pedicures to prevent smudging or pressure on freshly treated nails.
Follow recommended maintenance schedules to keep nails healthy and looking their best.
For best results, schedule routine manicure and pedicure services as recommended by your nail technician.
