Laser Hair
Removal
Smooth, silky skin with safe, professional laser hair removal — performed by licensed aestheticians using advanced LightSheer® technology.
Areas We Treat
Laser hair removal is a noninvasive way to remove unwanted hair almost anywhere on the body — our most requested areas are quick to treat and tailored to your comfort and goals.
Who Sees the Best Results?
Laser hair removal is most effective for people with thick, dark hair and lighter skin, where pigment contrast helps the hair absorb heat. Clients with darker skin tones or lighter hair — blonde, gray, white, or red — may need adjusted settings or alternative approaches, but many still achieve great outcomes over a series of sessions.
Why Choose Laser?
Many clients prefer laser hair removal to electrolysis. While electrolysis uses a thin wire and electric current to destroy individual follicles, laser hair removal typically requires fewer treatments, is less painful during sessions, and reduces the risk of ingrown hairs.
While not entirely permanent, the results of laser hair removal are long-lasting. Some hair may regrow, but it's usually much finer and lighter than before. With regular sessions, you can enjoy silky skin and freedom from the constant upkeep of traditional hair removal methods.
Preparing for Your Upcoming Laser Hair Removal
Thank you for choosing Rivage Day Spa for your LightSheer® laser hair removal treatment. To ensure the safest and most effective results, please carefully review the following preparation guidelines, contraindications, and post-treatment care instructions.
Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for 3–4 weeks prior to treatment. This reduces the risk of pigmentation changes and skin sensitivity.
Do not wax, thread, tweeze, or use depilatory creams in the treatment area for 4 weeks prior. These remove the follicle the laser needs to target.
Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment so the laser can effectively target the follicle beneath the skin.
Avoid Retin-A, retinoids, or strong exfoliating products on the treatment area for 5–7 days prior to treatment.
Skin should be clean and free of lotions, oils, deodorant, or makeup on the day of treatment.
